Newbury Masters is the adult squad within Newbury District Swimming Club. We are a friendly group catering for swimmers from the age of 18 and upwards. Our swimmers participate from a casual level right up to a highly competitive level. Many swim to keep fit or improve their stroke technique, whilst others compete in Masters Swimming competitions, Triathlons and Open Water events. Most of our members joined because they either swam in the past or were swimming at local public sessions.
What is Masters Swimming?
A “Masters Swimmer” is just a swimmer in the age range from 25 to 90+. Masters competitions consist of 5 year age ranges, but most also include an 18-24 Senior category. For those swimmers who wish to compete, we enter a few local Masters competitions each year and some of our swimmers also compete in higher level regional or national level competitions.
Masters Session Times
Core sessions:
- Monday 19:30-20:30 Hungerford
- Wednesday 20:00-21:00 Hungerford
Morning sessions are also available where Masters swim alongside swimmers from other squads:
- Tuesday & Thursday 06:00-07:30 at Kennet
- Friday 06:00-07:30 at Northcroft
