National Championship Report
Swim England English National Championships
Grace Wade started the national competition with a phenomenal achievement in a 7.5km open water swim coming 14th in the 17/18-year age group (8th in the 17-year-olds). Grace completed her swim in 1 hour and 42 minutes at Rother Valley Country Park in Sheffield for her first ever 7.5km swim.
She also competed in the 800m and 1500m in the pool.
Anna Patterson also competed in the 800m and 1500m freestyle in the 18 years and over age group. Anna came 7th in the 800m and gained a bronze medal in the 1500m with two personal best times.

Our two breaststroke qualifiers, Eloise Wade and Olive Muir swam to success by qualifying for the finals in all three of their events, 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.
Eloise started the championships strongly by qualifying for the 400 IM final on day one, finishing 9th in a new PB. She then went on to a win gold in her 100m breaststroke 18 years and over age group the next day, with Olive maintaining her entry position of 4th in her 17 years age group final.
The 50m breaststroke saw Eloise gain another gold medal and personal best time of 32.64. Olive, again didn’t drop her entry position in her final and came 6th in a time of 34.75.
On our last day of the competition, the girls both stormed their finals, coming up from 6th and 5th to steal bronze medals! Both girls also achieved new personal bests for these last swims.
Five medals and strong swims all round from all four girls, is an incredible achievement and result for NDSC. A great way to end the season.

Welsh Summer Nationals
Stan Jones had an awesome result for his first time at the Welsh National Summer Championships this year. Achieving two new personal bests in both of his butterfly events. 29.24 in the 50m and 1.05.71 in the 100m. First time nerves clearly didn’t impact him!

Scottish Summer Nationals
Louise Goodman travelled up to Aberdeen to compete in the Scottish Summer Nationals in the 1500m and 400m freestyle. Louise finished 5th in her 1500m and narrowly missed out on a new personal best by less than a second in her 400m freestyle. Another strong first time Championships meet for Louise.
