Club Captains

Boys Club Captain
Miles Warren

Hi,

I’m Miles Warren (aka Mileage). I am 15 years old and in year 11 at St.Barts. I love and play all sports except football! I have a fun loving nature but take my swimming seriously and I am proud to have been appointed captain after only a year at Newbury.

I want to try and encourage the younger swimmers to get better and the older ones to succeed.

I’m also committed to supporting the coaches.

Happy Swimming!

See you pool side

Girls Club Captain

 Georgia Marriott

Hello everyone!

My name is Georgia Marriott I am 16 years old and I am your new senior club captain. I am currently studying for my A-level PE, Psychology, Biology and Sociology at Kennet 6th form. I hope to further my education in sport by going to university. My sister is currently studying early childhood studies and Swansea University.

I have been a member of NDSC for over seven years, all of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have taken part in the County Championships for many years now and have achieved a Gold medal in the 50m Breastroke when I was 14. I also take part in biathlons and have represented my school team and have qualified through to the National Championships in the last three years.

Even though swimming is my main sport, I also enjoy dancing. I studied dance at GCSE and am part of the school company ‘psycho’. When finding time away from swimming and work I like to spend time with my friends and family and occasionally write music to play on my keyboard. I would like to thank you all for voting and I will always be here if you would like to talk. Just remember to keep working hard, achieve those goals and keep smiling!

Boys Junior Captain
Jake Jezzard

Hi!

My name is Jacob. I am 12 years old. I am in year seven at Park House. When I went to secondary school I didn’t think I would know anyone but when I got there I found lots of familiar faces thanks to NDSC!

I have been with Newbury swimming club for three years but I have loved swimming for as long as I can remember. I like to swim in galas because its fun and you can try and beat your times. Training can be tough but it is worth it when you see your times improve.

I hope you all enjoy swimming as much as I do!

Girls Junior Captain
Lilly Glover

Hi

My name is Lily Glover. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother and I am the only one who carried on with swimming after I had finished my Northcroft Lessons. That is when I joined Newbury District Swimming Club.

I have only been at the club for 2 years and I am already in B1. I have broken many of the records at the Newbury Swimming Club, some that had been held for 10 years, that was the year I was born. I am now 11 years old and have just started year 7 at St Bart’s. I have qualified for the County's and I have been in the South East Regional championships and obtained a bronze medal in the final of the 200m I.M.

My goal is to be an Olympic swimmer in the 2012 London Olympics when I am 16. I have always wanted to be club captain and that goal was achieved. So go ahead and achieve your goals! Just remember swimming can be tough as well as fun!

Good Luck!
